 About Indian Coast Guard:

The Indian Coast Guard could be a multi-mission organization that conducts actual operations from year to year confounded at sea. Despite being relatively small, it has a wide range of work capabilities for both surface and air operations.

The organization is headed by the Director-General of Indian Coast Guard (DGICG), which exercises its overall command and superintendence from the Coast Guard Headquarters (GCHQ), located in New Delhi. In GCHQ, he is assisted by four Deputy Director Generals of Inspector General rank and other senior officers headed by various staff divisions.

For effective command and management, the maritime regions of India are divided into five coast guard zones and they located at Gandhinagar, Mumbai, Chennai, in respective regional headquarters. The Coast Guard area is commanded by officers of the rank of Inspector General.

(ii) The cut-off percentage (%) of a particular state/center will be determined on the basis of the number of applications received for a higher percentage.
