            The application has been invited by the respective recruitment authorities of Indian Postal Department Assam Postal Circle, as shown in the Annexure I against the eligible candidates against each post, for the following Gramin Dak Sevaks posts of eligible postal service for selection and engagement.

Job Profile Assam Postal Service Recruitment 2019:-

(i) Branch Postmaster (BPM):

            The job Profile of Branch Post Master will include managing affairs of GDS Branch Post Office, India Posts Payment Bank (IPPB) and ensuring uninterrupted counter operation during the prescribed working hours using the in-hand device/Smartphone supplied by the Department. Overall management of postal facilities, maintenance of records, maintenance of handheld devices, ensuring online transactions, and marketing of postage, Postage Bank of India services and purchase of village business or Gram Panchayats among the jurisdiction of the Branch Post workplace ought to rest on the shoulders of Branch Postmasters. However, the work performed for IPPB will not be included in the calculation of TRCA, since the same is being done on incentive basis.

(ii) Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM):

            The Job Profile of Assistant Branch Post Master will include all functions of sale of stamps/stationery, conveyance and Delivery of mail at doorstep deposits, payments, other transactions under IPPB, Assisting branch postmasters in counter duty using in-hand devices / smartphones supplied by the department. However, the work performed for IPPB will not be included in the calculation of TRCA, since the same is being done on incentive basis.

(iii) Dak Sevak:

The job profile of post-Dak Sevak will include stamps sale, stationery, conveyance, sub-postmaster including postman working in the post offices / RMS of the department, postage, and delivery of postage stamps and stationery assigned by the sub-postmaster, all the functions of postage and delivery. However, the work performed for IPPB will not be included in the calculation of TRCA, since the same is being done on an incentive basis.

 Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA):

The following Minimum TRCA shall be payable to the categories of GDS as mentioned in Directorate Order No. 17-31/2016-GDS dated 25.06.2018.

Age Required:

The minimum and maximum age for engagement for the post of GDS will be 18 and 40 years on 05-08-2019, respectively as on 05/08/2019 from the date of notification.

Permission for upper age relaxation is:

• ·        5 years for SC/ST
• ·        3 years for OBC
• ·        No relaxation for Economically Weekend Section (EWS)
• ·        10 years for PWD
• ·        13 years for PwD + OBC
• ·        15 years for PwD + SC/ST.

Educational Qualification Post Office Job in Assam 2019:

(i)  Certificate of Class 10^th standard passed with passing marks in mathematics and English (having study with Elective Subject) organized by any accredited board of school education by the Government of India / State Governments / Union Territories will be in India. Compulsory educational qualification for all approved categories of Gramin Dak Sevaks (Referenced in Directorate Order No. 17-31 / 2016-GDS dated 25.06.2018).

Candidate passed class X in the first attempt will be treated as Passed qualitatively against them.

(ii) Compulsory knowledge of local language:

The candidate must study at least the local languagen10th class declared by the state [as compulsory or optional subjects] As per government or constitutional provisions related to the 8th schedule the constitution of India. The official languages of the state are shown below: -

  Knowledge of Cycling:

Candidates must be knowledgeable of Cycling is a pre-requisite condition for all GDS posts. In case of a candidate having information about riding a scooter or motorbike, that may be considered as knowledge of cycling. The candidate has to submit an announcement to this effect.

Fee Payment:

          An applicant of category OC/OBC/EWS male will be charged Rs. 100 / - (One Hundred Rupees) for each set of five choices. Candidates who need to pay will have to go to any Head Post Office or other designated post offices in India. The names of the offices are available on the website http://appost.in/gdsonline. The applicant can also pay the fee through online payment using the given URL on the home page. For this purpose, all recognized credit/debit cards and net banking facilities can be availed.
