It is general information of all concerned that Director of Higher Education, Assam has developed a Web Portal to generate Unique ID aspiring students seeking Online Admission for the academic session 2020-2021 in various Institutions (State Universities/ Govt. & Provincialised Colleges) under Higher Education (General).

The aspiring students are requested to generate the Unique ID in the Office Web Portal https://directorateofhighereducation.assam.gov.in even if they already have filled up the admission form or already taken admission.

NOTE: Generating Unique ID by students is compulsory for Online Admission.

How to generate Student Unique ID 2020 :


1. Go to the Official Website Given Below
2. Search for link Unique ID Generate mention there
3. Enter your required credentials mention on the form
4. Fill up the CAPTCHA and press to the submit button
5. After successful the registration A unique ID will be generated and a registration confirmation mail will be sent to your mentioned mobile number. You have to note down your registration Unique ID for the future.

Short History of Bijni College:


               The Bijni College is situated on the Indo-Bhutan border, Bijni, now a subdivision within the district of Chirang of Assam could also be a historically famous place. It’s named after the powerful Koch King, Chandra Narayan alias Bijit Narayan who founded the Bijni Kingdom in 1617. After the dissolution of the Zamindary system, unfortunately, the place lost its former importance and glory and got reduced to a poor and backward area. The place is typically inhabited by scheduled tribes and scheduled castes and other backward communities, the most occupation of the people being agriculture. Therefore the place is by and enormous backward both economically and educationally. Before the establishment of Bijni College, there have been only a couple of high schools in around Bijni Town. Most of the people of this area were incapable of sending their wards to institutions located in other towns and cities for higher studies due to their weak economic condition.

                Consequently, an outsized number student of this area after completing high school was bereft of enjoying the advantages of upper education. a number of the leading citizens alongside a neighborhood of conscious people of the society undertook of the noble venture to determine an establishment of upper education in Bijni town for the economically backward sections of the world. As a result of their tireless efforts and indefatigable zeal and great sacrifice, the varsity came into existence on 21st July 1969, the historic day on which man first landed on the moon. At the initial stage, it had been Bijni Tutorial College having only the humanities stream and had no building of its own. It started functioning with six lecturers and seventy-six students within the Bijni Girls high school building. Late Ramani Kanta Sharma, the ex-principal of Kokrajhar College acted as its first principal for a quick period. He was followed by Mr. U.C. Das of politics department who became the regular and permanent principal of the school. On 18th March 1970, the inspiration of the school building was laid by Kamal Kishor Sonowal, the then D.C. of Goalpara district. The school was shifted to its own building on 27th July 1971 which was inaugurated by the then Hon'ble Chief Minister of Assam, M.M. Choudhury.

 The school was accorded affiliation in February 1975 and brought under Deficit-grant-In-Aid system on 01-12-1975. It also included under section 2(f) of the UGC Act of 1956 w.e.f. 24th April 1980. The school has celebrated it’s a jubilee in 1994. Within the same jubilee year science stream started. Of Course, it's yet to be brought under the deficit-grant-in-aid system. The method of provincialisation goes on. In due course of your time, the school has become a full-fledged degree course with 9 departments in the Arts stream and 5 departments within the science stream. The entire strength of teachers in permanent posts is 24 and contractual teachers are 9. There are 15 teachers within the science stream and two teachers in non- sectioned posts in Arts Stream. The entire strength of staff in sanctioned posts in the non-teaching section is 10 (ten). The school has its credit, a well-staffed office and a well-furnished library.

Provincialized on 23rd Dec 2005, the school is additionally successfully running both science and humanities streams besides the branches of distance mode courses under IDOL and KKHSOU. The school has reached this level only with the tireless and selfless co-operation of the teaching and non-teaching staff of the school.
